Book Review: Spark by Alice Broadway

Lets just say there was some ‘spark’ in this one! What a great follow up for book#1 of the Skin Series. After being surprised by Book#1 and it untimely cliffhanger, I proceeded to get me that second book and it did not disappoint in story line. I did enjoy reading and I couldn’t put it down. One this i will say is that its a little bit scatty. Hang in there with me…

Five Ways to Stay Motivated

Quite often I have people message me and ask how are you always so positive and motivated? First answer is I’m not. It’s impossible for somebody to be motivated all the time as there is always something that we don’t want to do, which means we won’t be motivated to do it…. Why do you get up every morning? why do you go to work? why do you eat that takeaway? Why do you need to buy that?. Your WHY as an adult is a MASSIVE part of your motivation!

#thegoodbits2018 – Finding perspective: year wrap up.

It’s been a funny sort of month. In fact its been a funny sort of year. I struggle to understand why this year has been particularly taxing or seemed more difficult than usual… or just in general a bit MEH. But looking back on the things I have achieved makes me consider that the MEH times can sometimes – though they shouldn’t, override the memories that we need to keep in the forefront of our mind..

The Mortal Instruments #1 – City of Bones by Cassandra Clare Book Review

All the stories are true..
Probably the line that drew me to the series, I was late on the bandwagon to read this. I purchased the 10th anniversary edition hardback last year and still never got round to reading it until now. The TBR pile threatens to crush me! Stories of werewolves, vampires, demons and demon slayers sounds like an amazing cast and some pretty swish adventures… it was!

First Impressions: Audible Review.

I started The Mortal instruments series – City of Bones in hardback book maybe a couple of months ago? I read a few chapters, got distracted. Read a few more, got distracted. You know how it can be when life gets busy and book slumps hit. I liked the beginning of the book it was fun and new, but somehow I never got truly stuck in enough for that unable-to-put-down feeling to grow, but a book review is for another day. Today I thought I would share with you my first experience of the audible app, and why you should try it even if you think you won’t like it…

6 ways to keep spiders out of your home.

I don’t know about you, but anything creepy crawly with over 6 legs scares the life out of me. (other than: woodlice, flies and beatles to name a few off the top of my head.) In fact I get shiver down my spine for nearly everything else. Exactly why, I don’t even intend to understand. Similar to those of you who have a fear of heights or, rollercoaster or even fears of other animals. So why do spiders find your home more appealing than the outside world? well mostly our homes are attractive because one; it’s warm and dry & two; there is a plentiful supply of food. Effectively spiders are an incredible form of pest control for us humans, the eight-legged predators consume mainly insects either by catching them in them webs or hunting and ambushing them around our home. But sometimes the other bugs are more welcome than the spiders. All I know is I don’t want spiders in my home and I detest killing innocent creature for no substantial reason. So today I’ll be going through my top ways of keeping these critters out of your home, without killing them.

Are there any arachniphobs here?… well don’t worry, I gotcha – no spiders pictured…

Are positivity and happiness the Same thing? Short answer. No.

So many times I’ve had people say to me how are you so happy all the time? How do you stay so upbeat? In fact when I’m having a slightly off day many of my work friends and colleagues will ask where the bubbly Jazz has gone. And although its meant in a caring way I can see how detrimental it could be to someones mental health.

Many people are under the illusion that positivity means happy, and that statement couldn’t be more wrong. Positivity is a choice of mindset. Happiness and emotions? not so much choice. Happiness is not a choice…
